A spur of the moment trip to Magic Kingdom to test out my camera. I picked up the new OM-3 micro four thirds camera and wanted to see how it does after sunset.
Once again, I stall out on a project. Writing consistently is difficult because I don’t feel like I have anything to write about. The daily routine is so routine that it’s not interesting enough for comment. Without the motivation to go out and do something else, the routine won’t change.

A screen cap from the game Elite Dangerous. This shot made me curious how the mythology of a civilization might develop at the edge of the galaxy, where the night sky looks somewhat different from ours. What early explanations would people create for an arch in the sky, a ringed planet, a visible nebula, and a giant wedge of light crossing the night sky?
I need to head out into the black again and get a similar picture from a planet ‘below’ the galactic disk. The image of a night sky with an ocean of light above.
Settling into the new year. Yet again considering what project to work on in my spare time. This is one option, attempting to write on a consistent basis to see if I can improve the content and quality of whatever I manage to put into print.
I’m reviewing all the half-finished projects that currently sit in the house: learning to play the cello, becoming proficient with 3-D printing, building electronics to use with said 3-D printing, learning model building and painting, repairing the motorcycle, cleaning up the house, getting out of the house more often, and the list goes on.
I think what I’m chasing is the ability to self-motivate. I try something out, but focus all my attention for a few days and burn out. Then I don’t want anything to do with whatever project. I satisfy the initial curiosity but don’t have the follow-through to complete what I started.
Initial setup of the site. Minor adjustments to appearance. Posting this item just to get some placeholder text in place to show how content will appear.
On a practical note, the engine has changed since I last tried this. The feature that draws my eye appears to be a system to build templates for posts. It may become my preferred method for sharing photos instead of getting bogged down with a separate photography theme for the site. It likely will be better for me to focus on posting a single image at a time instead of shotgunning a pile of shots hoping one might gain attention.
